Can you play the PS2 Guitar Hero 1, 2 & 3 on Playstation 3?

Will the Playstation 2 Guitar Controller work? Or do you need to use the PS3 guitar controller? I have been trying to figure this out. I know on the compatibility list at playstation, it says they work, with minor problems, but my question is more so, can you play with the playstation 2 controller? or can you play with the playstation 3 controller? or can you just not play it? has anyone had experience with this? I am deciding to get a 40 or 80 GB ps3 right now, and if I can’t play guitar hero on the 80 GB, its a deal breaker, so does anyone know if this does indeed work? I have heard a few different things, anyone have any idea?
yeah thats what i was thinking! so is there a special adaptor to use? like a ps3 to ps2 controller adaptor? are you saying that the playstation 3 guitar will work then on the playstation 2 versions of GH 1, 2, & 3?

the playstation guitar controller on guitar hero 3 ( the wireless one) works on ps3, the other gh1 and gh2 guitars im not sure but i no that the wireless ps2 one works on ps3. so ring the company and they can answer you question. The ps3 guitar does not work on ps2 sorry.
